In the vineyard-November
With a last nervous glance at the weather map, (because the last of the frost during the devastating 2007 vintage occurred on the 14th November) we turn our attention to de-suckering and removing poorly positioned shoots.
Now we would normally also remove any shoots which are not bearing fruit, however we cannot find a shoot anywhere which doesn't have at least one healthy inflorescence. We have to get through flowering and fruit-set yet, but, fingers crossed..........
We also begin lifting catch-wires and tucking-in wayward shoots having a bad hair day (which is most of the top Chardonnay block) during the last of the windy weather.
