2007 friends Riesling

Brilliant pale straw in colour with fragrant nose of honeysuckle, citrus and crisp apple. A soft textural palate of tropical fruits, musk and sweet ripe pineapple, balanced by some crisp acidity. Generous length of flavour with well balanced natural acidity ensures great drinking now and will continue gaining complexity with 5+ years cellaring.

Serve chilled. 13% alc/vol.

2006 Chardonnay

Brilliant pale green straw in colour. Delicate floral nose with hints of banana and coconut. Soft creamy mouthfeel, with hints of gooseberry. It’s lingering finish and crisp acidity should make it an ideal accompaniment for scallops and crayfish. Just starting to open out now, with 18 months bottle age. Will develop considerably over the next 2-5 years. This could be as good as the ’05.                             Served chilled  13%alc/vol    

2007 friends Pinot Rosé

Brilliant pale salmon colour, with an elegant perfumed nose of sweet poached strawberries and musk. Soft, light body with delicate hints of luscious sweet poached strawberries and musky cachou, balanced by some lively acidity.

Best served icy cold. 13.5% alc/vol.

2007 “Friends” Pinot Noir

Deep ruby red in colour, with hint of blue at the rim. Perfumed nose of plums, blackberries and spice. Mouth filling sweet dark berries, spice and hint of earthiness. Well balanced, soft, complex, with long finish and touch of fine dry tannin. Like the ’06 vintage, this Pinot will benefit from cellaring for 2-3 years.               13.5%Alc/Vol.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep garnet red colour with a nose of sweet blackberries, tomato leaf, smoky bacon and dusty chocolate. This, the last Cabernet to be grown at Brook Eden has a palate of ripe dark berries, spice, mint , smoky bacon and earthy savouryness. Balanced by some lively acid and velvety tannins. It was aged in French oak for 24 months before bottling, and will reward cellaring for 3-5 years by gaining complexity and softness.  

13.5% alc/vol.
